This full weekend of runs is too much to do just in one overnight, so we’re making a weekend of it. On Friday, you can motor with the group to Bristol, VA via a route up The Rattler (aka The Gambler) through Luck, Trust, Hot Springs and Erwin, or just meet us whenever you can get to Bristol. Plan to stay in Bristol our home base for 2 nights at the hotel of your choice. Saturday we drive the Back of the Dragon (twice!), Burke’s Garden and Backbone Rock. Sunday we will drive the Snake and then travel Diamond Back in the Little Switzerland area as we make our way back south. Feel free to peel off anytime to make your way back towards your home or follow along with the group to our final destination of Strawberry Hill in Chesnee, SC. There will be fun stops along the way including BOD store in Tazewell, Shady Valley Country Store, and the original MAST General Store. Be sure to mark your calendars!
This event is open to Upstate MINI members as well as MINIACs from other groups. But you must register below to participate.
Plan for breakfasts on your own. We’ll have group dinners Friday and Saturday nights for those that want to participate or feel free to venture into downtown Bristol VA/TN on your own. Of course we have lunch and pitstops planned during the days.
Hotel suggestions are to stay on the east side of Bristol in VA (not TN): there’s Delta by Marriott, Courtyard Marriott, Quality Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Days Inn by Wyndam to name a few.
If you are planning on joining the group on the Friday drive up to Bristol, we will meet at the Ingles at I-26/Hwy 14 (1851 Hwy 14E, Landrum, SC 29356) @ 9:30am. Drivers’ meeting at 9:45am and 10am we start motoring. Don’t forget to bring your walkies, and we will be on channel 21-7. Gas up each night so you start each day with a full tank of gas.
Saturday and Sunday morning we will meet as a group in the parking lot of the Courtyard Marriott between the Courtyard and Delta hotels (3169 Linden Drive, Bristol, VA 24202). Meet 9:30am, drivers’ meeting at 9:45am and 10am we start motoring.
