MINI on the Mack
Join MINIs for a parade across the Mighty Mack. The Mackinac Bridge is currently the fifth longest suspension bridge in the world. The bridge opened to traffic on November 1, 1957. The bridge is 5 miles in length and the roadway at mid-bridge is 199ft above the waters of the Straits of Mackinac which connect Lake Michigan and Lake Huron.
More than 1,300 MINI Coopers gathered for MINI on the Mack, a parade across the Mackinac Bridge in Mackinaw City, Michigan, to break the English-held world record for largest-ever MINI Cooper parade. The parade was organized by MINI of Grand Rapids, with the support of MINI USA, and has become the perfect way to bring the community of car owners together.

In 2023 it is happening again, and you can participate. Jeff Goodman is coordinating the Upstate MINIs contingent driving to the Mack!
Important: As of mid-December 2022, there are already 200+ registrations for this event. Hotels in the area (St. Ignace and Mackinaw City, MI) have already bumped their prices up and are filling up. The Upstate MINIs contingent will depart Thursday morning and overnight somewhere near Ann Arbor – exact route to be determined. We’ll arrive in St. Ignace early Friday afternoon and have some time there, check in onsite and meet lots of other MINIacs from all over the US. The important point here is to decide very soon if you are going, and get your reservations made in St. Ignace or Mackinaw City for Friday night. If you wait a few months, the prices will be higher and the quality lower at available places to stay.
The bridge drive is Saturday, and if it’s done like it was in 2019, we’ll line up early and launch around 10am. The “parade” is over around noon, and those who are headed back to the Upstate can gather for a group drive or go back individually. Others, like me, use this as a launch to a summer vacation, and won’t be headed back home soon.
