Saturday August 15
Departure is 8:30 AM sharp from Ingles on Highway 14 Interstate 26.
Make sure you have a full tank of gas before you start.
Route will travel up the old Saluda grade and then Upward Road through apple country to Highway 64, the longest road in NC. We will then be traveling on 64 from Edneyville to Cashiers. Arriving at Cashiers at 11AM we will arrange all cars on the green at Laurelwood Park and at 11:30 enjoy lunch at Whiteside Brewing Company overlooking our beautiful MINIs parked on the green. After lunch we will travel up Highway 107 to Lake Thorpe/Glenville dam and after crossing the dam will take off on Cullowhee Mountain road through Speedwell and into the Valley of the Lilies. We will then follow the Slow Moving Turtle (Tuckaseigee) River on North River Road into Dillsboro. An afternoon stop will be at Barber Orchard in Waynesville (home of William Tell brand apples and delicious apple turnovers and fritters) and when we depart Barber Orchard we will travel back home via the highest motoring point on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Please sign me up! I’ll be driving from / to Charlotte for the event, if anyone else is in that area and wants to caravan, drop me a line. It’s probably easier to connect up w/ me on Facebook (Aaron Granger – a beer angel as my current profile pic)
